Most People Would Prefer to Own a High Quality Watch

There are many advantages and costs to owning a deluxe watch. First of all, most people would prefer to own a high quality watch, but the only thing holding them back is the actual cost; price. What is so good about a high class watch? The most important factor identified by people is status. By owning a deluxe watch, people automatically associate you with success, and that is something that nearly every human wants. In fact, it is for this reason that the prices of Rolexes and other brands are so high, actually artificially so. Although the watches are good in themselves, thousands of dollars are added on just to make the watches considered "premier". Even though the watch costs much less to manufacture, they sell for exorbitantly high prices, just so people can say, "I own a deluxe watch."

That is not to say that all you are paying for is status. These watches are extremely durable, made from the finest material, and often have capabilities that others do not. For example, many Rolexes can withstand incredibly high pressures, which make them ideal for underwater excursions. Others are designed specifically for mountain climbers and aviators. As you can see, prestige goes way beyond simply showing status, and there is a functional aspect to consider as well.

The primary thing that keeps people from owning such a watch is the price. Even the lower end models are still between one and two thousand dollars and the better ones usually reach into the tens of thousands of dollars. It is pretty crazy how expensive these things are, but that is just the way it is. With all the other expenses regular people have to face, adding something as unnecessary as a deluxe watch is essentially impossible. Therefore, the only way to acquire a real one is to get rich, which is easier said than done.
